Christmas Reefs….using rosemary and gum leaves…….

Other inspirations ……

It’s too early to put all decorations for Christmas up……!

But with Christmas plans being made and decorations in shops I thought I’d start fiddling with the colour theme.

This reef is influencing the colour scheme for this Christmas. So are the musky pink mushrooms in my decorations box.

Each year I look at my decorations, both new and some vintage pieces and then choose a theme for the year.

Below is a “tree” designed with a deer head I picked up at the end of Christmas last year. I not put up any more decorations till early to mid December.

Have fun planning your own Christmas .

Dish clothes – cloth usually cotton or micro-fibre used to wipe down benches and clean dishes in the kitchen.

Over the last few years I’ve experimented with making my own dish clothes. This fits in with my goal to buy less home products and be able to make more myself. I have found the fabric in charity shops so the expense is low.

I found this waffle cotton fabric last week for $3. I managed to make 10 dish clothes, 4 double sided flannels for bathroom and 3 large hand towels/ tea towels.

Creating Dreamy pj for summer from mistakes…..

I picked up,this silk blouse for$3 in charity shop. I fell n love with the feel of the fabric. Wearing the blouse as it was just made me feel middle age and frumpy , which I am ! I couldn’t bear to put such lovely silk back into charity shop. So I cut off the sleeves and collar to give it a cool summer feel.

I’ve noticed that wearing pj tops instead t.shirt is fashionable at the moment. I had made a pair linen pants that were bit too small. So I cut them into shorts. This gave me extra fabric to add to the sides that widened the shorts and added a nice feature.

This is now my new pj set for summer
